Bologna

Scholar for its University, ancient, founded back in 1088, of great cultural tradition, unchanged through time, to this day attesting its centers of high research and excellence, its ability to answer to the demands for contemporary formation with attention to innovation and respect for its past culture. Fat for its attitude, since ancient times, in translating the products of its fertile campaign in foods that satisfy both taste and smell, surprising with imagination and innovation even the most demanding palates. This is the home of the tortellini, deriving their shape, according to legend, from the navel of the goddess Venus and the tagliatelle, similar homage to the beauty of the wife of Duca Alfonso of Este, Lucrezia Borgia, of long and luminous blond hair, or the lasagne, plate of great opulence, or the ragú or the mortadella, together with a vast assortment of sausage and salami. But Bologna is not just a cultivation for the mind mediated by a recognized culinary culture. It is also a city of ancient foundation, based on an Etruscan colony, that has confirmed its importance during the roman age and proceeded, in the Middle Ages, in acquiring its own personal configuration, with its sophisticated buildings, its towers and churches, all connected one to the other through a system of porticoes - functional and protective, unique in its kind - and characterized by a vast variation in the coloring of the bricks, responsible for the city's reddish appearance. It is also a lively city that has known in time how to modernize its artistic-intellectual character and adapt it to the modern industrial world: highlighting the value of its mechanical and electrical enterprises, strongly tied to the university's tradition in engineering research, but also its agricultural tradition and fashion sense; strong its stance in economic development, exemplified by its famous trade fairs; fundamental in being a node of national communication - railway and highway - and international, thanks to its very organized and connected airport, easily reachable and allowing one to reach any destination of our ever closer horizon.
